We cultivate over 75,000 hectares of oil palm in the Amazon. Our business model is sustainable, acts in the recovery of degraded areas of the forest, generates income and keeps people in the field.
The soy bran produced in our extruder in Pará stands out for having in its composition a higher level of energy, essential for the swine, poultry, and livestock markets.
We are developing a pioneering project to produce certified cocoa using the Agroforestry System, where cocoa will be grown alongside oil palm and other species native to the Amazon. BBF cocoa will be marketed from 2030.
Our sustainable oil palm cultivation contributes to the balance of the forest, carbon capture, restoration of soil cover and the biogeochemical and hydrological cycles. We are one of the largest employers in the northern region of Brazil.
Our sustainable oil palm cultivation is carried out in accordance with the environmental legislation in force and respects the Agroecological Zoning of the Oil Palm, recovering degraded areas of the Amazon forest.
The Agroecological Zoning of Oil Palm, a program created by the Federal Government in 2010 through Decree No. 7.172/2010, determines preferential and regular areas for oil palm cultivation in Brazil, with the aim of restructuring the country's energy matrix, as well as planning the sustainable use of land.
We operate in the entire production chain with a verticalized and integrated business model.
Our oil palm cultivation recovers degraded areas of the Amazon, captures carbon, and contributes to forest preservation.
Oil palm cultivation is not mechanized, so we contribute to generating jobs and income in the northern region of Brazil.
We have encouraged more than 400 families through the Family Farming Program, generating additional income and technical assistance in oil palm cultivation.
We use the best international practices for the sustainable management of oil palm and follow the indicators of the National Environmental Council (CONAMA).
We are proud to be more than 5,000 direct employees, more than 15,000 indirect employees and more than 400 family farmers. Together, we are caring for and transforming the Amazon region.
