Check out the report aired on Rede Amazônica Roraima's Roraima Rural program, which details the production of bioenergy from the reforestation of degraded areas. The article features our CEO, Milton Steagall, who explains how oil palm cultivation generates socio-economic development for the Amazon region. The article also features Grupo BBF employees who show the entire cultivation process, from planting the oil palm to generating renewable electricity.
The Grupo BBF plants operate with biofuels (biodiesel and vegetable oil) and biomass from oil palm, serving more than 140,000 customers in the northern region.
Our 25 thermoelectric plants in operation remove more than 106 million liters of fossil diesel per year and reduce the emission of about 250,000 tons of carbon equivalent from the Amazon atmosphere.
