The Grupo BBF Brasil BioFuels) has taken another important step towards becoming a benchmark in sustainability and agricultural efficiency, with the adoption of sustainable fertilization and fertigation practices from the processing of oil palm at the Acará and Moju mills in Pará. The project, recently implemented by the company, brings significant benefits to the soil and the surrounding communities.

Fertigation with POME (Palm Oil Mill Effluent), or oil palm processing effluent, is an agricultural technique that combines the application of natural fertilizers with irrigation. This process carried out in the company's plantations has gained prominence in the field, as it is an important organic source for natural fertilization.

At the Grupo BBF, all liquid effluent generated in the oil palm production process is treated. With sprinkling, carried out using high-tech equipment, the method adopted by the company has become more efficient, safe and sustainable.
