BBF invests to produce soy meal in Pará

Soy

Brasil BioFuels (BBF) is to inaugurate a new factory to produce soybean meal in Pará. The new industrial plant is part of the diversification strategy of the group, which operates in Brazilian agribusiness.

The location chosen for the new venture is the city of Paragominas, in the southeast of the state. The inauguration marks BFF's entry into the soybean market, the flagship grain of Brazilian agribusiness.

With 14 years of history, the group is already the largest palm oil producer in Latin America. Through the Paragominas plant, the company plans to supply soybean meal for animal nutrition.

According to BBF, the participation of Pará people in the swine, poultry and livestock markets has been growing exponentially. "Attentive to this trend, it is investing in a new agro-industrial asset to accelerate the production of soy derivatives in the region, providing high quality products at a competitive cost," explains Milton Steagall, CEO of the group.

More nutritious soybean meal

Through the new business, the group plans to offer a more efficient bran for nutrition. "The product of the new BBF extruder stands out for having in its composition higher energy value, with about 12% oil, and the guarantee of 41% of vegetable protein," the company informs in a note. "As a reference, the soybean meal currently available in the region, in its great majority, has very low oil level in its composition, close to zero. This characteristic creates the need for complementation in animal nutrition, generating greater complexity and higher cost for the farmer and rancher."

In addition, the new industrial plant complies with environmental efficiency criteria. According to the statement, the Paragominas plant will reuse all waste. By the end of 2022, BBF plans to have the capacity to process almost 5,000 tons of soybeans monthly at the site.
